Professor Heimo Steffen, a board-certified ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon, specializes in neuro-ophthalmology, strabismus, and pediatric ophthalmology. A graduate of medical school in Germany, he pursued further specialization in ophthalmology at the University of Heidelberg and conducted research in the United States. He has served as a professor and head of specialized units in Germany. Since 2015, he has headed the neuro-ophthalmology, strabismus, and pediatric ophthalmology unit at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), where he is also an associate professor at the University of Geneva. Professor Steffen now offers his expertise to patients at his private practice, where he works part-time while continuing his clinical and academic activities.
